Our Mission at Hyer Health
At Hyer Health, our mission is to provide deeply personalized, integrative healthcare that treats the whole person—not just the symptoms. We combine the best of functional medicine and modern primary care to uncover root causes, restore balance, and help you feel like yourself again.
We’ve lived the frustrations of the traditional medical system—rushed visits, generic treatment plans, and insurance limitations that get in the way of real healing. That’s exactly why we created Hyer Health: to give patients the kind of thoughtful, comprehensive care we once wished for ourselves.
Whether you’re navigating hormone imbalances, chronic fatigue, autoimmune conditions, or simply want a more proactive approach to wellness, we’re here to listen, dig deeper, and walk with you every step of the way.
Your Care Team

Sumerlyn Peckham, APRN, FNP-C
A little about Sumerlyn...
I’m Sumerlyn Peckham, owner and provider at Hyer Health in beautiful Ormond Beach.
My journey in healthcare began in 2012 in my hometown of Dothan, Alabama, where I was deeply influenced by my medical family and a blend of both Western and natural medicine. From an early age, I knew I wanted to provide care that looked at the whole person—addressing the root causes of health concerns, not just the symptoms.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama before completing my Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. After moving to Florida in 2019, I pursued advanced training in functional medicine through Functional Medicine University, but my true passion lies in hormone health. I specialize in perimenopause and menopause care, holding membership with the Menopause Society and advanced training in menopause management after breast cancer. I am also highly skilled in male hormone replacement therapy, helping men optimize their health and vitality.
At Hyer Health, I am dedicated to providing personalized, integrative care that empowers my patients to take control of their health. It is an honor to serve this community and help my patients feel their absolute best—at every stage of life.

Melinda Cook APRN, FNP-C
A little about Melinda...
I later earned my Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) degree from South University, where I had the privilege of completing some of my clinical training under the guidance of Sumerlyn. Her mentorship solidified my calling in functional medicine. I am certified by the Hormone Health Institute and have a deep-rooted passion for helping men and women navigate hormonal imbalances with a personalized and compassionate approach.
My practice focuses on addressing the root causes of illness. I am a firm believer in using diet, lifestyle changes, and high-quality supplements as the foundation of wellness—reserving pharmaceuticals as a secondary option when needed.
It’s my mission to empower patients with the education and support they need to take control of their health and feel their best.
